No, I’m not dead… just forgetful.

March 5, 2009

loserHello blogging world in which I have zero followers.  My life has been very unenventful as of late.  My days consist of work and sleep.  At work I have found myself watching alot of television and movies.  This cannot continue.  I set out in the begining of this blogging journey trying to aquire my Cisco CCNA.  I have made zero progress.  I have decided that it is time to pick this up again.  With Mr. Jon Corzine announcing he will be laying off 7,000+ state workers I need to make myself as valuable as possible.  So, since I am at work at the moment I cannot fully blog.  I will update tonight with all my fun details.  Until then.  Adios.

Thanksgiving Dinner?

November 27, 2008

photo1Happy Thanksgiving all.  Today is the one day a year where American’s are supposed to stop being selfish, whiny, ungrateful bastards and sit down with each other and share a civilized meal together.  A lot like the families on 80’s sitcoms did every night.  Well, today that is not my reality.  I sit here alone in the data center at the Hess Woodbridge, NJ office.  I am pulling a long shift here, 3:30pm until 8:00am tomorrow.  I do not mind though.  My family is out having dinner with a friend of the family and I will have of tomorrow all day so I can spend it with them.  You may be wondering why there is a picture of White Castles here… well, I went to Wegman’s supermarket on my way in today because they usually have deliciously prepared wraps for pwople on the go to eat… Not today.  Apparently they felt everyone will be home cooking and no one in their right mind would need to eat out.  Well, they were wrong.  So I went to the frozen food section to grab the first thing I could prepare in a microwave as not to be late for work.  This was it.  Kinda pathetic huh?  Well, I cannot complain.  Even though I am stuck here I am grateful.  I have two jobs when most people cannot find one.  I am able to provide for my family and make sure they have what they need.  That is my job and I am happy to do it.  I wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving.  Enjoy your dinner and time with family.  Remember to give thanks for all you have today… tomorrow though, we can go back to being true Americans and whine about how much money we have spent!  I will go now and eat my dinner and wait for my brother to show up at 11:30pm.  Happy Thanksgiving online world!

Confidence…

November 22, 2008

I came across this video from an old children’s movie, “The Lizzie McGuire Movie”, staring Hilary Duff.   It made want to just post a quick message about confidence.  You should never be afraid to go for what you want in life.  Confidence is key.  Like my boy Paolo here… he went out on stage, and even when he was found out to be a terrible singer he still walked up… confident as hell and looking like Enrique Iglesias I might add, and sang when Isabella asked him to.  Of course, it sounded terrible, but the point was he was confident.  Who cares if all he worked for was now gone and his fan base turned on him.  He was not afraid to give it his all.  We should all be so lucky.  So I say… go people.  Go sing your heart out, even if you will lose all you care about.  At least you will have confidence to go out and live your life.  That is all.

I wanna live in the UK…

November 21, 2008

new-half-blood-prince-harry-potter-1713578-500-333 Today I learned that we as Americans are seriously lacking in one area… movie trailers.  For months there has been a trailer out in the grand ole US for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.  This trailer is weak to say the least.  It lacked any real excitement and straight out lied when Albus Dumbledore told Harry Potter that the memory shown in the trailer was “the most important memory he has collected”.  True readers of the book know that it in fact was not, but I will not spoil the movie for those who wish to see it all unfold in July.  And thats another thing.  Originally this wonderful masterpiece was to be released in just one week, on November 29… but the movie jackasses decided to move it back to July 2009.  Mind you, they did not move it for production reasons or to make it better, they moved it because they think it will be more profitable in the summer.  Jerks.  But anyway, back to the original posting… the UK.  I was browsing the interweb and found the UK trailer at: http://www.harrypotter.co.uk and my mind was blown.  Much better than the crumby US trailer.  Everyone, go watch it now!  I am now even more excited to see this movie and wish I could have a time machine to get there quicker!

Kids are weird…

November 17, 2008

PillowThis is the sign Angel made to hang on the bathroom door… I happen to agree that it is excellent advice.  I just wanted to share this.  I am going to watch the new episode of Dexter.  And remember… no pillows in the bathroom.

Lost in an obsession…

November 9, 2008

Well, it has been several days since my last post.  I regret to report that I have done absolutely no studying for my CCNA exam.  Instead, my nights at the Hess building have been spent on my latest obsession… Dexter.  That is what has been holding up my posts.  I have been completely consumed by this show.  Shown on the left is Michael C. Hall, the actor whom portrays “America’s Favorite Serial Killer”.  I have only managed to make it through seasons one and two so far, but it has been such a crazy ride.  So many twists and turns that it makes your head spin.  One of my favorite characters did manage to get himself blown up.  I won’t say who because I don’t want to ruin the show for potential witnesses… ha ha, get it?  A show about a serial killer… witnesses… no?  Okay. I do highly recommend that all who have not seen the show give it a chance.  I know all will learn to love Dexter.  If I we’re gay, I’d bag him.  After getting hooked on the show I learned that the show is based on a series of “Dexter” novel’s.  The first book in the series is Darkly Dreaming Dexter by Jeff Lindsay.  I am currently searching for an audio book version since reading and I are sworn enemies.

Otherwise in my life things are going good.  I have my lovely wife and kids, and two full time jobs to keep me busy.  Not much free time after that once you throw sleep into the mix.  But I do need to start making time to finish my studies.  Luckily there are only a few more episodes of Dexter available at the moment.  I will be all caught up soon.  Well, I think it is time to go feed my obsession one more time before I leave for the day.  I think I can get one last episode in before my relief from Hess comes in.  Hopefully I will not forget to update again.  In case I don’t see you.  Good afternoon, good evening and good night.

My withdrawal from online society…

November 2, 2008

Well, over the weekend I did something kind of rash.  I decided to pretty much withdraw from all online web services.  I don’t know what really brought it on.  The whole thing seems pretty mundane and pointless.  So they are all gone: Twitter, MySpace, Facebook, BrightKite, TwitPic all gone.  I decided to keep my blog up as sort of an online journal.  Like my boy Doogie Howser, MD.  Only, his was not one since the internet was not readily available in homes back then.  His was kept in a WordPerfect 5.1 document.  So you could say I’ve become an Online Hermit, like my boy sitting over here on the right.  This way I can weed out all the “friends” and “followers” who really don’t give a crap and just focus on the small few who do care.  I know the will be the only ones who take the time to read what I write here.  My boy Doogie said it best in Season 1, Episode 19 when he ditched Vinnie for a cooler friend only to find when things got tough and his new friend bailed that he could still count on Vinnie Delpino:

***PERSONAL JOURNAL OF DOOGIE HOWSER, M.D.***

February 24, 1990… There’s nothing better than being cool and having a lot of friends… Except being uncool and having one real friend.

Thank you Doogie, for another lesson learned.  Eighteen years later you are still touching peoples lives.  In case I don’t see you… good afternoon, good evening and good night.

Time to get back to normal…

October 30, 2008

Well, I have taken a nice break from studying latley.  Mostly since its rough staying awake here all alone at night. Now that I am caught on episodes on House, MD, which has been amazing as of late, I feel it is time to finish the task I have previously set… obtaining my Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).  This is by far much more that I originally anticipated.  I have decided to take the two test approach instead of just on big, hard test.  It is not so much that the material is difficult, since it is really not, it is the way Cisco handles testing… from what I hear is very difficult and leaves very little room for mistakes.  The tests are mostly simulations, which is good since it proves you know what you are doing… but sucks because the Cisco IOS is very difficult to learn.

In order to prepare for my tests I am using the CBT Nuggets Training Videos and the Cisco Press: Interconnecting Cisco Network Devices, Part 1 (ICND1): Foundation Learning for CCENT/CCNA ICND1 Exam 640-822 Book.  I also picked up a Cisco 851w Integrated Services Router in order to get some hands-on experience. I am hoping to take  this test hopefully next month.  Anyone with any tips, please feel free to offer them.  Well, enough of my meaningless rambling that no one cares aboot.  Off I go to study.  Until next time… In case I don’t see ya…  Good afternoon, good evening and good night.

My first post…

October 29, 2008

Hello, Word Press world.  Since I have lots of free time now working the third shift, I have decided to try to undertake a blog.  It seems to be the cool thing to do now a days.  As you can see, me and my boy Mikey work extremely hard at our third shift position.  This is us at aboot 3:00am.

Before we start this journey together that is known as my pathetic excuse for a life let me explain the name of my blog.  I am by no means a pervert.  The title, “Meat in yo mouth” was inspired by my iPhone.  One night, when there was a ton of people over my house, I went to use the Safari browser on my iPhone.  (side note, Safari is the fastest browser in the world.)  Upon opening the app, I found someone tried to visit www.meatinyomouth.com, but they were let down since no such website exists.  The picture, was the the best illustration I could find of meat in someone’s mouth.  Nothing else.

Well, at the present moment, I am watching Roswell Season One.  I simply wanted to introduce myself to Word Press.  I will be posting many a more blog, and definetley more interesting ones.  And in case I don’t see ya… Good afternoon, good evening and goodnight.
